In an effort to clean up my craft closet, I decided to purge some stuff that I never use and am finally ready to admit that I will never get around to using. Of course, tomorrow I’m going to wish I had something I’d gotten rid of. C’est la vie. Anyway, I took a big bag of yarn, fabric, and various notions to SCRAP on Saturday with the goal of coming home with less than I donated, and I succeeded. But I couldn’t resist a few little things.

First up is this bear necklace, which I may very well wear tomorrow.

I also got a bit of this red, white and blue striped knit fabric that I’m hoping will be enough to make a shirt out of, and these fantastic anchor buttons.

All in all, a good trip. If you live in the Bay Area and like to make things, SCRAP is a wonderful resource. It’s incredibly cheap, and you can feel good about the fact that it’s all used/recycled supplies, many of which would be difficult to find elsewhere. Watch out for the cranky white-haired lady at the register, though–she can be rather difficult, as I’ve seen in person and in Yelp reviews.
